Travel to Cayo Santa Maria from the Santa Clara Airport
Most visitors to the area are destined for Cayo Santa Maria which is a small tropical island located north of Cuba.  To reach Cayo Santa Maria from the Santa Clara Airport you travel in the air conditioned comfort of tour buses about 90 minutes from the airport, through villages
and then over a man made 48 km causeway to the island paradise of Cayo Santa Maria.  The Island is about 13 km long and 2 km wide offering miles of white sand beaches, warm tropical waters and luxury hotels.

While most passengers travels arriving in Santa Clara, travel directly by bus to Cayo Santa Maria, there is plenty of sites to see in Santa Clara as well.  The city is rich in culture and history.  The dozens of quaint shops that line the narrow streets will keep you busy most of the day.

The city is known as the city of Che.  Here you find a memorial of Ernesto "Che" Guevara. If you are a history buff then you must put the Che Museum on your list of places to visit.

Another popular attraction is the Museum of Decorative Arts which features home furnishings, a china and painting collection from the 18th and 19th century
